Yoga/Seminar room
Our yoga space is an outdoor, roofed deck with amazing views of Lake Atitlan and the volcanoes, and river sounds drifting up from the creek which runs below our property. We offer a full range of yoga props made by local artisans, including beautiful bolster made from local textiles, blocks from sustainably harvested local wood, and cork yoga mats.
Eco practices
Our center is built with sustainable, natural materials. Water is heated with solar water heaters and grey water is cycled into on-site plantings. We follow a No Trash policy: guests & staff learn to create eco-bricks out of their waste, which can later be used in building projects. We work closely with Atitlan Organics & other local producers to source fresh, local food for our restaurant.

Description
The Bambu was created as a center for regenerative and sustainable living, and since 2015 we have been hosting Permaculture, Natural Building, and Yoga groups. We can host up to 24 people in our 4 spacious shared rooms, each equipped with its own private bathroom with hot water, super comfy beds, wifi, and decks with hammocks and amazing views. The Bambu also has two dedicated facilitation spaces; one a cozy living-room style area for lectures and group discussions (this space also doubles as our 'comedor,' or dining room), and a large and stunning yoga platform which can be used for yoga and other, more dynamic activities.
Our on-site restaurant is supplied by Atitlan Organics Permaculture Farm, which is just up the road, and other local producers. Our friendly and talented chefs create delicious, nourishing meals to keep you happy and healthy during your stay, and we are able to cater to just about any dietary need or restriction. We work closely with Atitlan Organics Permaculture Farm and can help set up Permaculture tours or workshops with them, or help you arrange any other local activities you'd like to add to your program such as hikes, kayaking, tours, trips around the lake to visit indigenous markets, weaving cooperatives, or cacao production. Finally, we can also set up all in-country travel for your group. As group leaders ourselves, we know exactly what you're looking for and how to help you create the best experience for your group! Don't hesitate to reach out to us, we'd love to get to know you and your retreat.
