Our 72 m² multi-purpose Yoga Shala is ideal for yoga classes, meditation, workshops and seminars. The space is equipped with a sound system, yoga mats and blankets, and a projector and screen are available for presentations, talks or film screenings. The walls are fully removable, allowing the space to open to the surrounding nature and fresh breeze, or close for comfort on cooler days.

Eco practices

We follow several eco-friendly practices: organic toiletries are provided in all rooms, and much of the food served is certified organic and produced on the farm. Our gardens support local biodiversity, and the pool uses a natural water treatment system without harsh chemicals, reducing environmental impact.

Description

Verde Água is a peaceful 10-hectare farm in northern Portugal overlooking the Douro Valley, offering an inspiring setting for retreats, workshops and group gatherings in nature.

The land combines 5 hectares of cultivated fields—vegetable gardens, vineyards, strawberry patches, asparagus beds and orchards—with 5 hectares of forest that lead down to the Douro River. The riverside area provides beautiful spaces for walks, meditation, outdoor activities or quiet time by the water.

Across the property there are several outdoor areas for relaxation and connection, including gardens, shaded seating areas with tables and chairs, and hammocks among the trees. A water tank converted into a natural swimming pool with ecological treatment offers a refreshing place to relax during warmer months.

For group activities, the property features a 72 m² multi-purpose Yoga Shala located beside a small stream and surrounded by vegetation. The space is ideal for yoga, meditation, movement practices, workshops or group circles. It is equipped with a sound system, yoga mats and blankets, and a projector and screen can be provided for presentations or film screenings.

The farm is also home to animals including chickens, ducks, peacocks, goats, a horse, a donkey and dogs, which contribute to the welcoming and lively atmosphere of the space.

Accommodation rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Meals can be provided on site, or organisers may bring their own chef or catering team. Verde Água offers a calm, natural and flexible environment for meaningful retreat experiences.

Bedrooms

The property has 6 bedrooms and a yurt. Two bedrooms have double beds, the others have single beds, and some include sofa beds. All rooms feature air conditioning, linens, towels, and organic toiletries. Suites have en suite bathrooms, while the yurt has an outdoor bathroom and hot shower.

Bathrooms

Five bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, one bedroom in the main house has a private bathroom just outside the room, and the yurt has an outdoor bathroom and shower. There are also two bathrooms near the Yoga Shala. All facilities provide towels and organic toiletries for guests.

Cleaning

We provide bed linens and towels. Extra cleaning or linen changes during your stay are available for an additional fee. Bedroom towels cannot be used outdoors; towels for the pool or river can be rented for €5 per stay.

Catering

We can provide up to three meals per day on site, offering a variety of dietary options, mostly made with organic products grown on the farm. Alternatively, guests are welcome to bring their own chef or catering team.

Kitchen and Dining room

All guests can dine together comfortably. The property has two kitchens: an indoor fully equipped kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, and dishwasher, and an outdoor kitchen near the fire pit, ideal for cooking workshops or group cooking activities in a relaxed, social setting.

Outdoor

The property offers several outdoor areas for relaxation, including gardens, shaded seating with tables and chairs, and hammocks among the trees. A natural-treatment swimming pool provides a refreshing retreat. Five hectares of forest lead down to the Douro River, offering beautiful spots for walks, meditation, outdoor activities, or quiet time by the water.

Booking Policy: A 50% deposit is required at booking, with the remaining 50% due 1 week before the event via bank transfer (proof by email). Cancellation Policy: Up to 180 days: 1 night charged; up to 90 days: 50% charged; late cancellations, no-shows, or early departures: full amount forfeited. Misbehavior may result in removal without refund.
