Property description:

Ten daily trains stop on our property heading south from Switzerland and north from Domodossola at the Preglia di Crevoladossola train station. All international trains stop in Domodossola and there is one hour shuttle service daily from Milan Malpensa Airport.

A 10 minute walk uphill takes one into a totally private world of its own with an extraordinary view of the Alps, a rose garden, vineyard, orchard, small pond, surrounded by six hectares of park and forest. The abundant spring fed water is the property's most precious asset and the sound of water is ever present.

VILLA RAGHEZZI
The original structure dates back to the 1500's but was transformed in the mid-1800's by Gio Raghezzi who emigrated to Versailles, France. It was he who painted the interior ceiling and wall decoration and chose and sent the furnishings including the piano over the Alps by horse and cart.

His wife declined his many invitations to join him in Paris and preferred to remain Ossolana. The fascinating and numerous documents and letters between them recounting their story will remain in the house.

The two 16th century vaulted cantinas, one for wine, the other for salume and general storage, are in pristine original condition.
The entrance is from the stone terrace, the main feature of the villa overlooking the Alps and serene farmland below.
On this floor one enters into the dining room and kitchen area to the left and to the right the living room.
On the next floor there are three bedrooms, a bathroom, and a storage room that has a door accessing a covered balcony looking onto the plunge pool and mountains. Perfect for summer and swing-season outdoor sleeping since mosquitoes are not yet a problem.

THE FARMER HOUSE
The guest house, currently listed on Airbnb with 5-star ratings ( see website ) is actually divided in two apartments. The downstairs consists of a large living room, a kitchen, a small bedroom, and bathroom. Accessed by an outside stairway is an upstairs apartment with two bedrooms and a full bath. Various terraces provide shade or sun to suit the season.
A veranda with a southern exposure looking onto the rose garden and pond is ideal for spending a few hours in winter, a windy day, or a quiet spot to take in a summer thunderstorm.
The 40 m2 ex-winepress building in front of the Farmer House is partially restored and with a little finish work would be an ideal space for group activities / yoga classes etc.

Three ancient stone barns that can be restored into habitable space are situated at the top of the property near the spring. A dream opportunity to create an off-grid hideaway with fresh spring water and a simple solar power source.

The short walk to the village below provides basic shopping, bars, restaurants, wineshop, bakery, and hairdresser. It's 2 minutes by car to a large shopping complex and 5 minutes to the town of Domodossola.

Much of the original furnishings, basic tools, and machinery can be included in the price.
