The 160 sq mt shaded Shala has proved to be the ideal spot for outdoor practices and we also have a 50 sq mt Yurt, (ideal for sound baths), a solar heated Watsu pool and a wood-fired Sauna close to the water - and of course we provide yoga mats and cushions etc. - and the garden itself is full of hidden nooks and crannies for those wanting solitude.

Eco practices

We are off the grid and run entirely on solar energy, providing our guests with solar heated hot water, use environmentally friendly cleaning products, produce a great variety of fruit and vegetables in our biological gardens which we prepare in the Quinta kitchen and of course we separate our waste. We buy and employ locally as much as possible. Call us a "Green Leader" if you like!

Description

"Retreat in Portugal" is a secluded, off-grid, lakeside 10 bedroomed oasis in southern Portugal with excellent service.

We have free accommodation available for the retreat Leader. All rooms are en-suite and all have a wonderful and calming view across the gardens to the lake.

It is ecologically sound and solar-run, (not that you'd know it), neighbour-free - not a whiff of planes, trains or automobiles - and renowned for its privacy, peace and quiet.

We cater for all tastes and have a great deal of experience in providing vegetarian, macrobiotic and vegan food as well as tasty home cooked meals for individuals or groups.

Canoes and SUPs are included free of charge in any stay, and there's also a wood-fired sauna close to the water's edge, a Yurt, a large Yoga Shala and a solar-heated Watsu pool on site with Shiatsu Massage available too. We also offer guided Nature walks where we invite you to connect with the land and its flora and fauna with our experienced and world-renowned Guides.

We've enjoyed hosting many different Retreats in the past and are rated 5 stars on Tripadvisor after more than 500 reviews.

Bedrooms

We have 2 triple rooms with a double bed and an extra bed each as well as 4 normal double rooms and 1 twin.
Further we have 2 family suites. One sleeps 4 and one sleeps 5.
All our rooms are en-suite.

Bathrooms

All our bathrooms have a bathtub as well as a shower. They are spacious and designed with local materials. The piping hot water is pumped, cleaned and heated by the sun.

Cleaning

All rooms are cleaned on a daily base and there is also a laundry service at a small nominal charge.

Catering

Our meals are prepared fresh every day with many local ingredients and are served in a professional but homely atmosphere. On request we cater for all diets including vegan and vegetarian etc.

Kitchen and Dining room

The dining room can comfortably sit 25 people and has amazing views through its infinity window. The furnishings are a gentle mix of English and Portuguese antiques.

Outdoor

We have many facilities here at the Quinta which all can be used by our guests for free. Table football, table tennis, sauna, canoes, SUPs, rowing boats, sun chairs, sun deck, library and games.

Things To Do Nearby

As we're wonderfully situated in the middle of wonderful countryside and on the shores of a beautifully warm and clean lake there're lovely Nature walks all around us with or without a professional guide and swimming or canoeing on the lake as well as SUPs for that core work.
