Description

Oasia is a private 9-bedroom jungle and ocean sanctuary in Costa Rica — designed for retreat leaders, groups, and the people who hold space for others. Set on more than 14,000m² in Costa Ballena, built around a central indoor-outdoor pool with multiple gathering decks, a yoga-friendly main space, an ocean-view deck, and complete privacy from neighboring properties.

THE SETTING
Surrounded by preserved rainforest and a food forest with fruit trees. Wildlife is part of daily life — toucans, monkeys, butterflies, the sound of the jungle waking. The main deck offers 270° views from rainforest sunrise to Pacific Ocean sunset.
A short drive brings you to Costa Ballena's most loved beaches — Playa Hermosa, Playa Piñuela, and Marino Ballena National Park (the iconic Whale's Tail). Nauyaca Waterfall, Diamante Waterfall, and the Uvita River are all within easy reach for group day trips.

THE MODEL
Oasia is a flexible venue. Bring your own teachers, chef, and program — or let our team coordinate logistics, chef service, transport, and on-the-ground experiences. Venue-only to fully hosted, every retreat is custom-designed around your vision.

Bedrooms

9 bedrooms across 3 standalone units and 3 duplex pairs. Wood: 1 king, private bath, full kitchen. Water: 1 king or 2 twin XL, en-suite bath. Air: 1 queen, 270° views, shared main-house bath — reserved as host suite. Fire A & B: 1 queen each, shared bath between the pair. Metal A & B: 1 king or 2 twin XL each, shared bath. Rock A & B: 1 queen each, shared bath. AC throughout.

6 bathrooms total. Wood: private en-suite, walk-in shower. Water: en-suite, walk-in shower. Fire pair: shared bath, walk-in shower. Metal pair: shared bath, walk-in shower. Rock pair: shared bath with walk-in shower + bathtub (only tub on property). Air: indoor toilet and sink (can serve as main-house bath or private), private outdoor warm-water shower 8m away with privacy panel.

Cleaning

Standard end-of-stay cleaning included. Daily housekeeping and mid-week deep cleans available on request for an additional fee — light tidy in common spaces or full room turnover. All linens, towels, and basic toiletries provided and refreshed as needed. Pool maintained regularly. Trash and waste managed throughout the stay. Cleaning schedule customized with the retreat leader.

Catering

Catering is fully flexible at Oasia. Options include private chef service (3 meals/day, locally sourced from Uvita markets and nearby farms), self-catering in the fully equipped main kitchen, or a hybrid with the chef cooking part of the week. Special dietary needs accommodated (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, allergies). All meal planning customized with the retreat leader.

Kitchen and Dining room

Main kitchen fully equipped for chef service or group self-catering — full-size oven, multiple burners, large pots and pans, generous prep counters, full fridge and freezer. Each unit also has its own cooking facility: Wood and Metal have full kitchens, Fire and Rock have kitchenettes with small fridges. Indoor dining seats 18 at a circular table with lazy Susan. Outdoor seating across decks.

Central indoor-outdoor swimming pool. Multiple gathering decks across the property, including the main yoga deck (suspended in the rainforest with Pacific Ocean views), pool deck, ocean-view deck, and dining terrace. Cold plunge nearby. Food forest with fruit trees, garden plots, and jungle paths to explore. Outdoor warm-water shower. Open spaces for ceremony, fire circles, and group gatherings.
