Yoga/Seminar room

The Yoga Shala is a 70 sq metre space in Hafod Barn, with underfloor heating provided by our biomass boiler. It has a smooth oak surface with floor length natural linen curtains at both ends and along the large opening French windows. Plants are provided and yoga equipment is available if required for a small supplement. Adjoining the shala there is a wc and sitting room with views to the garden

Eco practices

Garth Barns is at the heart of over 200 acres of organic land, with ancient and new woods, open hill and cascading streams.
From responsible, sustainable farming methods including traditional hay meadows, we benefit from an ever changing display of wild flowers
Water comes from our approved spring fed well on the farm.
Heating is provided by biomass and solar, and recycling is to highest standard.

Description

Surrounded by nature, with ancient and new woods, a private lake and meditation dingle, Garth Barns and Country House, a beautiful retreat center in Wales, offers a beautiful, peaceful space for your retreat. With 10 years experience of hosting retreat groups, from smaller exclusive groups where everyone has their own ensuite room to larger yoga, wellness and meditation retreats, we are able to provide the perfect setting with everything you need. We encourage teachers to visit as soon as possible when planning a retreat. We can help as much or as little as you require, and can recommend excellent local retreat chefs and therapists if needed.
Guided walks may be arranged - the walking around Garth Barns is some of the best in the United Kingdom!

Bedrooms

Of the 16 comfortable ensuite rooms, 3 have a double bed. Other ensuite rooms have 1, 2 or 3 beds ensuring that we can be as flexible as possible. Full list available. All bedrooms have a hairdryer.

Bathrooms

5 ensuite rooms have a bath, with shower over. Other ensuite rooms have a shower. Soap and towels provided including Turkish hammam towels for retreat bookings.
WC near Shala. Bathroom/shower in gym.

Cleaning

Garth Barns and Country House are cleaned and maintained to a high standard for your arrival.
Cleaning equipment is available for guests. Cleaning may be arranged, in advance, for during your stay.

Catering

You may bring your own chef or we can put you in touch with recommended retreat chefs who have worked at Garth Barns previously including our highly recommended local retreat chef, Sarah.

Kitchen and Dining room

For GB&CH bookings, the Country House is used - cooking and dining for up to 30.
For GB bookings, Ty Nant is used - cooking and dining for up to 16

Booking Conditions

30% deposit secures booking with balance due 8 weeks before arrival date. If you cancel we will try to re-let. If successful at same price we will return deposit less £250. If re-let at £500 less, we will return deposit less £750. Always happy to reserve dates for 10 days to gauge response before deposit required. Minimum £500 returnable bond
