The Yoga Shala is about 1,000 sq ft of open-air, screened-in studio space — so you get all the jungle sounds and breeze without the bugs crashing your savasana. It's fully equipped with mats, blocks, wheels, bolsters, straps, meditation cushions, chairs, a projector and screen, and a sound system. Whether you're flowing, lecturing, or somewhere in between, this space has you covered.
Eco practices
At Flō, taking care of the land isn't an afterthought — it's just how we operate. We compost food waste, recycle consistently, use eco-friendly cleaning products throughout the property, and source all of our food from local vendors. The rainforest gives us so much, and doing our small part to give back feels like the least we can do.
Description
Flō is a family-owned retreat center sitting on 20 acres of undisturbed rainforest in Uvita, on Costa Rica's Southern Pacific Coast — about 15 minutes from the famous Whale's Tail beach and a 3-4 hour drive south of San Jose. Waterfalls, streams, walking trails, a cacao forest, and a natural swimming pool are all right there on the property.
We have 15 beds total, a mix of shared and private casitas, each with hot showers, AC, WiFi, ceiling fans, personal storage, and a mini fridge. Private rooms have their own bathrooms and decks. It comfortably hosts up to 22 people.
The communal spaces are where the magic happens — an open-air commercial kitchen and dining area, a pool overlooking the jungle and Pacific Ocean, a 1,000 sq ft yoga studio with props and a projector, and Gym Dos, a fully equipped air-conditioned gym that's honestly one of the best training spaces in Costa Rica.
Food is prepared fresh daily by an on-site chef using local vendors, with options for omnivores, vegetarians, and vegans.
With 5+ years of experience working with retreat hosts, we know how to make the whole thing feel easy. One of our favorite things a guest ever said? It's like summer camp for adults.

The property is thoroughly deep cleaned before and after every retreat, and maintained to a high standard throughout your stay. Common areas, bathrooms, and guest rooms are kept clean and fresh daily. We take pride in the space and want every guest to feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment they arrive.
Catering
Every meal at Flō is made fresh daily by our Costa Rican chef using locally sourced ingredients and traditional grandmother recipes passed down through generations. From carnivore to vegan and everything in between, every dietary need is fully accommodated. The food here isn't just fuel — it's part of the experience. Guests talk about the meals long after they leave.

Our fully equipped, professional-grade outdoor kitchen features two stoves and ovens — built to handle a full house without missing a beat. Fresh air, jungle views, and real cooking. The open-air dining area comfortably seats up to 40 guests, making it the perfect gathering spot for shared meals, morning coffee, and everything in between.
Outdoor
The property has plenty of space to unwind between sessions. Hammocks are scattered throughout the grounds, a large sun deck with lounge chairs sits alongside the pool, and a covered outdoor lounge area with couches provides a comfortable spot for conversation or downtime. All of it open air, all of it surrounded by jungle.
Things To Do Nearby
Uvita has no shortage of adventure. You're 15 minutes from the famous Whale's Tail beach at Playa Uvita, with surfing, snorkeling, and swimming right at your fingertips. Hike through Marino Ballena National Park, browse the local farmers market, or wander into town for dinner at one of the area's incredible local restaurants. There's always something to do — or absolutely nothing!
