Bright 90 m² yoga and seminar hall with wooden parquet floor and lots of natural light. Easily accommodates 30 people for yoga. Dimmable lighting, sound system and a cupboard for storing equipment. Toilet and washbasin right next to the room. Quiet and fully heated in winter.

Eco practices

The lodge is constantly evolving to become ever more eco-friendly. We are 500 m from the train station, so groups can easily arrive by public transport. Our attic is insulated with 35 cm of recycled cellulose (Isofloc), an ecological material, and heating is switched off when the lodge is not in use.

Description

Barberine Lodge is a mountain retreat venue in the Trient Valley, Valais, Swiss Alps, at 1140 m. Surrounded by cliffs, forests and waterfalls, it is intensely natural: ideal for silent, contemplative or practice-focused retreats.

A building for up to 54 guests, with 4 double rooms, 2 rooms for 4, 1 room for 6, and 4 dormitories for 8, offering flexible setups for groups of all sizes. A second building for up to 16 guests is also available on request. A bright 90 m² yoga and meditation hall with wooden parquet flooring, dimmable lighting and a sound system is ideal for practice and workshops. The lodge is fully heated, so retreats are possible all year round.

Facilities: a fully equipped kitchen, with oven, four-burner hob, three fridges and two freezers, perfect for groups who cook themselves or bring their own chef. A large dining room easily seats 60 to 80 people. Bathrooms include 10 showers spread across 3 separate bathrooms, plus 6 toilets.

Surroundings: hiking trails start nearby, and Lake Emosson and its waterfalls are within reach for walks between sessions.

Access: easy by car, or by the spectacular Martigny-Châtelard railway, with Châtelard-Frontière station only 500 meters away, ideal for international groups using public transport.

Experience: we regularly host school camps, sports groups and private celebrations, and we are used to flexible arrangements for large groups. We provide the venue only, so you stay free to design your own program.

Bedrooms

The building sleeps 54 guests in 11 rooms. The 4 double rooms each have a 140 x 200 cm bed. The other rooms (2 rooms for 4, 1 room for 6, and 4 dormitories for 8) have bunk beds of 90 x 200 cm. There are no zip-and-link beds and no en suite rooms: bathrooms are shared, with 10 showers in 3 separate bathrooms and 6 toilets.
Beds linen are provided but no towels.

Bathrooms

There are no en suite rooms. Bathrooms are shared and spread over two floors. Upper floor: one bathroom with 3 toilets and 4 showers. Lower floor: one bathroom with 2 toilets and 2 showers, and another with 4 showers. There is also a toilet and washbasin next to the yoga and practice room. In total: 10 showers and 6 toilets.

Cleaning

Guests are asked to leave the lodge in good condition at the end of their stay:

Strip the beds.
Vacuum and sweep the bedrooms.
Take out the rubbish and sort the waste for recycling.
Scrub the kitchen and wash the dishes.
Scrub the dining room floor.

Catering

We do not provide catering ourselves: groups cook for themselves in our fully equipped kitchen (oven, four-burner hob, three fridges, two freezers) or bring their own chef. All crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils are provided. Vegetarian and vegan groups are very welcome. A large dining room seats 60 to 80 people.

Things To Do Nearby

Hiking in summer, ski touring and snowshoeing in winter. Chamonix is a short train ride away. Visit the stunning Emosson dam and its dinosaur tracks, the Trient glacier, several spectacular gorges, or the Verticalp park with its funicular and mini-train. A top spot for climbing and for reconnecting with nature.

Parking

There is free, uncovered parking for at least 20 cars right next to the lodge, with additional space available along the road. The lodge is easy to reach directly by car.

Booking confirmed once a 30% non-refundable deposit is paid (deducted from final invoice). Payment by bank transfer; bank fees paid by tenant; 5% interest on late payments. Cancellation if no approved replacement tenant: 50% (6-3 months before), 75% (3-2 months), 100% (under 2 months). Full amount due even if partially used.
