Our open air yoga shala or movement space is 50m2. The studio has a mirrored back wall, with incredible views of the Diamante Waterfall, infinity pool, and forest-covered mountains. It can be set up with yoga mats and blocks, or with tables and chairs - whatever your event requires.

Eco practices

Vajra Jahra provides organic, local shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Our food is locally sourced from small-scale farmers and artesian producers who follow sustainable agriculture practices. We have an organic garden on site, and we are restoring the forest surrounding the retreat center, attracting native wildlife like toucans and monkeys back to the area.

Description

Vajra Jahra Retreat Center is a retreat destination created to restore harmony between humanity and nature while fostering deep community and intrapersonal connection. Every stay is designed to feel grounding, effortless, and meaningful.

The property features 12 studio villas arranged in a unique radial layout that naturally draws guests toward shared gathering spaces. Every pathway is interconnected, encouraging movement, chance encounters, and community. Each studio villa is private, surrounded by jungle or waterfall views, and includes an en-suite bathroom and personal deck for quiet reflection.

Our amenities are designed to support comfort in nature and intentional living. Guests enjoy an open-air yoga shala, infinity pool, private hiking trails, secluded jungle swimming pools, and a chef’s kitchen with a communal dining space that brings everyone together around fresh, local cuisine.

Located just 30 minutes from the pristine beaches of Dominical and Uvita on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, Vajra Jahra offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility, a place to unplug without feeling disconnected.

To ensure every retreat flows with ease, we provide full logistical support through our Retreat Concierge Service, assisting with:

Bedrooms

Vajra Jahra has 12 villas scattered throughout the property. There are six regular villas with one queen bed, and six large villas with two queen beds.

Bathrooms

Each villa has a private bathroom with hot water and a shower. There is complementary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

Cleaning

We provide daily cleaning services which is included in the rate.

Catering

We serve fresh, tropical, Costa Rican-inspired food; and our room rates include 3 meals/day. We can work with you to develop a menu that suits your retreat or event.

Kitchen and Dining room

We provide 3 meals/day as a part of our rates. Meals are served in our main area, overlooking the infinity pool and waterfall.

Outdoor

Vajra Jahra is surrounded by rainforest, and the property has hiking trails. Explore the jungle, and make your way down to the onsite stream that meanders through natural pools and over waterfalls.

Things To Do Nearby

Vajra Jahra is a short distance from the Diamante Waterfalls. Uvita and Dominical beaches are about 30 minutes away, and the town of Tinamaste is 15-20 minutes away for local markets and amenities.

Booking Conditions

Minimum stay is 5 nights. A 20% deposit is required to reserve (non-refundable). 30% is refundable between 60 and 30 days before. Non-refundable 30 days or less, but can rebook dates up to 2 weeks before. 13% tax will be added to the total. VJ is built on the hillside, and unfortunately we can't recommend it for people with limited mobility.
