The Yoga Studio at The Expanding Light is a sacred, high-vibration space—once our main temple—where deep stillness and upliftment fill the air. With room for 30 in yoga and 150 seated, it’s fully equipped with mats, props, and meditation cushions, making it ideal for both movement and inner stillness.

Description

For over 45 years, The Expanding Light Retreat has been a sacred haven for groups seeking inspiration, clarity, and connection. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills, our campus features an octagonal Teaching Temple, sunlit dining room, garden-view piazza, and a range of lodging options—from deluxe en-suites to cozy cabins and tent sites. Enjoy three nourishing vegetarian/vegan/GF meals daily, peaceful gardens and meadows, and access to the spacious Living Wisdom Center. A tranquil, alcohol- and smoke-free sanctuary where your retreat can truly flourish.

Bedrooms

Most of our cozy rooms feature two twin beds, easily combined for couples. A limited number of queen and king beds are also available—simple, restful spaces designed for comfort and renewal.

Bathrooms

Eight rooms have private bathrooms. Our main building offers 12 rooms with 4 shared baths, and 4 cozy cabins have access to a nearby shower house just a short walk away.

Cleaning

Housekeeping is available upon request.

Catering

Enjoy three nourishing, organic vegetarian meals daily, with always-available vegan and gluten-free options. All-you-can-eat buffet. Fresh fruit, coffee, and tea are offered throughout the day.

Kitchen and Dining room

Enjoy all-you-can-eat buffet meals served in our spacious dining area, with seating for up to 200 guests—indoors or outside.
