What Our Clients Say
Thank you again for the space you created in Thiruvannamalai. The retreat that we held in January 2024 was very deep and meaningful for all the retreatants attending.
Sangam house has provided a beautiful sanctuary right in the midst of developing Thiruvannmalai with a beautiful view of the holy mountain, Arunachala. An ideal space to enter into deep meditation and spiritual practices. Nothing else is needed in Thiruvannamalai except just to be before Arunachala with an open heart. The maintenance and setup of the retreat centre is most tasteful and lovingly cared for. I am longing to sit on the rooftop of Sangum House again and simply to look at Arunachala, the great Guru, who is ever teaching in silence.

I am a regular visitor to the sacred town of Tiruvanamalai. I am strongly connected to the holy mountain Arunachala which is dedicated to Shiva and I find my spiritual home in the Ramana Maharishi Ashram at the foothill of the mountain.
For over 8 years I and my wife brought Yoga students to Tiru to give them a taste of the "real" India. We never had a retreat that was not life-changing for the students. The only setback was often the accommodation that was offered near the Ashram. But all that changed when I discovered a small ad on a WhatsApp group that promoted a new luxurious retreat place in town, the Sangam Guest House.
It was not even fully finished but I was blown away by it. The house was built to Western standards. There was even a lift in the house that brought you to the 3rd floor! And of course, something that is even more unique in this small Indian Pilgrim town: A Swimming pool.
I met the owner, a very nice gentle Indian man who told me that he built this guesthouse to make Tiruvanamalai more accessible to Western students so they could experience this sacred place.
I am already connected for nearly 20 years to the biggest Yoga center in Australia The Byron Yoga Center as a Philosophy Teacher. The director John Oglivie is a very good friend of mine and we decided to be the first Group to book into Sangam Guesthouse with a group from Australia. And it was much better than we anticipated!
Vimila , the retreat manager and her staff were doing an amazing job catering to 20 people. The House was always spot-on clean and inviting and we could not have hoped for a better Retreat experience. We straight away booked another retreat experience in September (byronyoga@com.au) 2024.
The Byron Yoga Center can wholeheartedly recommend Sangam Guesthouse

'We travelled as a large group in southern India and Sangam House became our first home. The cleanliness, comfort, hospitality and great professionalism of the employees were the main characteristics of that place. And the atmosphere was wonderful, gentle & really friendly. I was super happy that we had the pool & watching it being cleaned every morning was my guilty pleasure. Many thanks to everyone for organizing healthy meals for our group. Everything was simply perfect!'

We were a group of 17 people who stayed at Sangam house for 11 nights. I have run many retreats in many different countries but was never looked after as well as I was at Sangam house by Vimala and her team. All of the amenities, food and the service were first class.
Kind regards,
