The Albion room is spacious and bright, with an inspiring high trussed ceiling and 60m² of floor space with underfloor heating, perfect for a yoga classroom. There are four large elevated amplified speakers, and terrace doors opening onto the sunny back courtyard, which has picnic seating and amazing views overlooking rolling Devon hills.

Teachers need to bring their own equipment.

The building runs on solar and green energy suppliers; Fresh filtered water is supplied from the on-site borehole; Hot water, an eco-solar and electric system, provides a non-instant supply; Underfloor heating is installed throughout the building; Solar panels help supply electricity; Sustainable products are used for housekeeping; Composting is done onsite; Recycling collection point onsite.

Description

Managed by the Network of Wellbeing charity (NOW), who acquired Eden Rise Retreat Centre through a generous gift in 2018. NOW continues using Eden Rise Retreat Centre for wellbeing-related residential hires, as well as facilitating their own events.

Situated only two miles from Totnes town centre, and nearby Dartington Estate, River Dart, Dartmoor National Park, it's the perfect location for wilderness, tranquility and rejuvenation.

The barns can accommodate a maximum of up to 20 guests (10-12 single occupancy available). The main building comprises of six main bedrooms for 17 guests (1 single room with a small double bed, 3 twin rooms, 2 small double and 2 twin pod rooms in a larger dormitory style room), and if using the option to convert the lounge into another sleeping space this can accommodate an extra people in our sofa beds.
Our two 3m heated bell tents are open from May-Sept and house small double futon beds, located on our secluded grassy terraces. These terraces can accommodate two camping tents the rest of the year, and we also allow two small campervans in the car park, for additional fees.

This unique property includes: one large main workshop hall and one big bright lounge hall, both opening out to the sunny back terrace garden; spacious ground floor kitchen/dining area; sheltered courtyard garden with plenty of tables for alfresco dining and features an open fire pit; ample shower and toilet facilities; outdoor seating areas with a large BBQ fire bowl, on-site parking for 8-10 small vehicles, and a separate sauna facility.

Bedrooms

The barns sleep between 17 to 20 people (10-12 single occupancy accommodation available). Single, small doubles, twin beds in the dormitory, bell tents, private room, camping and campervan spaces.

Bathrooms

The main property comprises of are 5 individual shower rooms, all with hot running water and 1 shower cubicle in the sauna facility. There are 4 toilets in the main building.

Cleaning

There are two caretakers living discreetly onsite in caravans on either side of the barns, they carefully look after the building and surroundings. A mobile number is provided in case of emergencies.

Catering

Although we do not cater for retreat ourselves, we do have a recommended list of local caterers, all of whom have cooked at the barns previously. We will happily provide their contact information.

Kitchen and Dining room

Well equipped with a large oak table seating 20, a Rangemaster cooker with 2 ovens and 5 ring burner, large fridge and freezer, professional food processor, blender and other cooking appliances.

Outdoor

A rear sunny garden with large fire bowl and BBQ, enclosed courtyard garden with campfire, ample outdoor seating areas, and adjoining land for walks and other outdoor meeting areas.

Booking Conditions

A non-refundable deposit of 30% is due at the time of booking. Once we receive your booking form and deposit payment your dates will be secure. Final payment is due 6 months before the start date of your booking. Deposits are non-refundable, however if you cancel, we may be able to refund the deposit if we/you can refill all dates with a booking.
