The center of our retreat center is a 100m2 (1.000 sqft) open-air Shala, which is located at the top of the mountain, with beautiful valley and mountain views. The Shala has its own kitchen and bathroom, is fully ventilated and well protected from rain by widely overhanging roofs. Ārūḍha has two more yoga & meditation platforms and a large stone circle with a fire pit at its center.

Description

We invite you to immerse yourself into the tranquility of the breathtaking Ārūḍha Spiritual Sanctuary, located between Dominical and Platanillo. Costa Rica's pristine Dominical beaches are just a 20 minute drive away from the retreat center. The famous Echochantales waterfall is only 5 kilometers away, the Chirripo national parks can be reached by car in 1.5 hours.

Our 11 houses and casitas provide the perfect environment for rest and restoration. Each bedroom is equipped with its own Wifi router, fans, hot showers and pure spring water to ensure your comfort. Most rooms feature terraces and balconies that open up to the jungle, allowing you to connect deeply with nature. Some houses come with their own kitchen and living spaces for added convenience. We offer a variety of lodging options with various single and double room configurations.

Our wonderful 5 people team maintains our Permaculture structures incl. fruit, vegetable and herb plants, old medicinal trees and bushes. Beyond our main retreat space, the Shala, we also offer 2 meditation and yoga platforms further down in the jungle. We have a small salt-water pool, 3 open dining areas and multiple jungle paths. The Shala is equipped with 22 kork yoga mats, 22 kork meditation pillows and seats. On demand we can also provide our own music instruments and professional sound system, which we use for the retreats as well as for singing circles.

Bedrooms

Ārūḍha offers 10 houses and casitas with 10-35m2. Most of the houses come with king beds that can be converted to twin beds for double occupancy, ideal for couples, facilitators, or guests seeking private accommodation. Almost all houses have balconies or terraces toward our gardens and jungle. All of our mattresses, bedding, etc. is brand new.

Bathrooms

6 houses come with own bathrooms, with hot water outdoor and/or indoor showers. The other 4 have shared bathrooms, but also with hot water.

Cleaning

During retreats the houses are cleaned by our wonderful team every 2nd day, more frequent cleaning is optional. We offer laundry service (at extra costs) and 2 dry rooms, in case you wanna keep your belongings safe and dry (especially during rainy season).

Catering

Our on-demand catering offers fresh, for our flavorful meals we are only using local and organic ingredients, with accommodations for vegan, Ayurvedic, gluten-free, and others.

Kitchen and Dining room

4 houses have their own kitchens, all kitchens have their own fridges, gas ovens and stoves. Our community kitchen is fully equipped with everything a professional chef might need. We also offer an open-air dining area that comfortably seats up to 22 guests, ideal for catered retreats, shared meals, and community gathering.

Outdoor

Ārūḍha is embedded in primary rain forrest and beautiful fruit tree gardens; besides our Shala we can offer two more yoga platforms, a small saltwater pool. You can enjoy the relaxing valley views from wooden benches all across our gardens, we have multiple resting and dining areas located around the property; at the center below the Shala sits our stone circle with a fireplace.

Things To Do Nearby

Costa Rica's pristine Dominical beaches (ideal for surfing, snorkeling, horseback-riding, etc.) are just a 20 minute drive away from the retreat center. The famous Echochantales waterfall is only 5 kilometers away, the Chirripo national parks can be reached by car in 1.5 hours. Experiences can be arranged to complement retreat schedules.

A non-refundable 50% deposit of total amount is due at time of reservation in order to secure your booking. The reservation is not final until the deposit is received. Thirty-days notice is required for cancellation with full refund. No refund for cancellations or shortened stays within 30 days of reservation.
