Description

Château de l’Houmelière is a restored 15th-century château in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, surrounded by silence, trees, and light. Hidden in the countryside, it offers a peaceful and deeply atmospheric setting for retreats, creative gatherings, and small group offsites.

The château features 7 thoughtfully curated bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a spacious farmhouse kitchen with fireplace, a 100 m² ballroom, a library, and a hidden gentlemen’s room. Interiors blend antiques, reclaimed materials, and poetic design — featured in House & Garden and Le Journal de la Maison.

Set on 1.7 hectares of private land, the property includes a natural pond, two historic outbuildings, and shaded outdoor spaces ideal for group sessions, yoga, dining, or simply being still.

We can host up to 18 overnight guests, with the possibility to accommodate more via campervans upon agreement.

Facilities include fast WiFi, indoor & outdoor seating, yoga mats, projector, and flexible spaces for group work.

While we are new to hosting retreats, our space was made for meaningful moments. Every detail has been restored with care — this is not a hotel, but a home with soul.

Bedrooms

7 individually designed bedrooms with antique furnishings, natural light, and poetic details. Each room tells a story and offers comfort, calm, and character. Sleeps up to 18 guests.

Bathrooms

9 bathrooms with vintage charm and modern comfort, featuring walk-in showers, deep sinks, and natural materials. Some are private en-suite and some shared.

Cleaning

Daily cleaning available for €40 per bedroom. Includes bed-making, tidying, and light refresh of general areas. Optional but recommended for longer stays or group retreats.

Catering

Private chef available for breakfast, lunch or dinner upon request. Meals can be served in the ballroom, garden or on the terrace. Optional wine pairing and seasonal local produce.

Kitchen and Dining room

Large farmhouse kitchen with fireplace and modern appliances. Multiple dining spaces: a grand ballroom, sunny terrace, and garden settings for shared meals indoors or under the trees.

Outdoor

1.7 hectares of private grounds with gardens, a natural pond, forest edges, open terraces, and historic outbuildings. Perfect for outdoor dining, yoga, walks, or quiet moments in nature.

A one-time cleaning fee of €550 applies to every booking. Cancellations are free up to 7 days before check-in. After that, 100% of the rental fee is non-refundable. We recommend travel insurance for added peace of mind.
